Going Door to Door

by Leon Duveen on 14 April, 2011

This week I have been canvassing door to door around the Ward.  Unfortunately I won’t have time to get round to all homes in Worksop South but I will try to get to as many as possible between now and the election.  Even so I wanted to share some of my impressions so far.

As this is the first time I have been canvassing, I am surprised at how much fun it is.  Although there are some that are not pleased to see me, most of the people I have disturbed have been happy to talk to me and I have found out more about the issues that affect you on a day to day basis.  It is also a chance to introduce myself to voters and to explain why I am standing in the election.  I have found that there is a wide spread distrust of the current crop of politicians, both local & national.  I have also enjoyed having discussions about politics.  I hope I have been able to show the those I have talk to why represent a different style of politics to the candidates from the other parties & that, if elected, I will be representing Worksop South rather rather than the local party machine.

If I don’t get a chance to talk with everyone, please feel free to contact me, see details on this page, & I will be happy to take up any local issues that you may have.
